In this 60-minute interactive session, participants will challenge common myths about boundaries and leadership, explore the difference between emotional labor and true responsibility, and learn how to set clear, grounded boundaries without guilt, over-explaining, or fear of rejection.

This session reframes boundaries as an act of clarity, care, and leadership - not withdrawal or conflict - and equips participants with practical language they can use immediately in professional and personal contexts.

Participants will walk away with:

With over 25 years in education—including nearly two decades in enrollment and leadership—Gina Mahfood has built her career at the intersection of strategy, student experience, and global engagement. She currently serves as Vice President of Institutional Relations & Student Experience at Authentica, a study abroad provider known for its sustainability-driven, academically rigorous programs worldwide. Within the Global Leadership League, Gina is the Thematic Director of Personal Development and Leadership, where she brings her passion for helping leaders connect more deeply with their work and growth.

Gina’s expertise spans strategic partnerships and the design and delivery of transformative educational experiences. Her leadership consistently drives growth, efficiency, and stronger student outcomes.

A frequent trainer and facilitator, Gina leads workshops on leadership development, identity-based habits, and emotional intelligence. She holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, has served on NAFSA’s EARP committee, and continues to mentor emerging leaders.

Whether forging partnerships, designing impactful programs, or coaching leaders, Gina is known for turning bold ideas into actionable strategies that create meaningful, lasting impact.

Amy Henry, Executive Director Office of Global Education, Georgia Tech 

Amy Henry leads Georgia Tech’s Office of International Education (OIE), which collaborates with faculty and staff across the institution to broaden and deepen comprehensive internationalization. OIE spans education abroad, international student and scholar services, and on-campus internationalization. Amy is also involved in campus-wide work such as co-founding the Provost’s Employee Engagement Council, and serving as a certified Bold and Inclusive Conversation Facilitator. Amy serves international and higher education through volunteer leadership in professional organizations such as the Executive Committee of the Global Leadership League and the planning committee for the Annual Colloquium on International Engineering Education. Amy is an alumna of the College of William and Mary (B.A. Sociology) and Georgia Tech (M.S. International Affairs).
